“When my hunger starts to kick in, I know that a smoothie is a knockout and an efficient way to cure my snack time cravings. Whether I’m feeling savory or sweet, a smoothie is one of my go-to options. Just think of all the tasty recipes you can try! Simply put, I love the versatility of smoothies!” -Nate
Our Nutritionist’s take:
“Nate’s smoothie is full of antioxidants from the blueberries he uses. These antioxidants help block free radicals that can damage the cells in your body. The banana and whey protein are also great for recovery if he drinks this after a workout. The decision to use whey protein is impactful because the amino acids found in whey are specifically used for muscle protein synthesis. Finally, Nate’s use of almond butter helps satisfy hunger cravings because the healthy fats keep him feeling satiated.”
